The FW26 collection for Jil Sander captures the sculptural beauty of the Salar de Uyuni salt flats, a landscape that continually transforms due to the effects of weather and time. Inspired by the expansive salt flats, the natural hexagonal patterns, and the iconic shape of the Tunupa volcano, I pondered the question: how beautiful can Salar de Uyuni be as it is eroded and reshaped by time and wind?
I explored the relationship between structure and softness: the pleats mimic the wind's erosion, while the high collar evokes the quiet silhouette of the mountain. The embellishments symbolize the crystalline minerals glistening beneath the shallow water, and the print reflects the light and ever-changing image of Tunupa at sunset. I approached Jil Sander's minimalist aesthetic with a soft yet powerful perspective, drawing inspiration from the infinite natural beauty of the Salar de Uyuni.
